Having a winter wedding in the northwest can be risky with the amount of rain we get here and just a week prior to their wedding day we had the biggest snow storm in recent history. It was all great though; just hints of rain and the snow was mostly melted by their day. We even saw little peeks of the sun in the morning hours. It all started at Abby’s parent’s house in north Tacoma. It’s always fun to be part of the hustle and bustle of the morning, but Abby was extremely calm while she worked on various tasks.

Every bride should feel like a princess on her wedding day, don’t you think?

I love this image so much! The look on Zac’s face is priceless!!! I chose to not use flash for this church. They required me to stay in the back, but let me be up front for this part and I was appreciative and wanted to be stealth about it, so no flash.
From this kiss…
To this kiss!
There’s lots of favorites in a wedding day and getting the fun group shot is definitely on that list. The wedding party is special. These are the people who have that extra special place in your heart. This group is together from getting ready to departure on your wedding day. They are there to help with whatever you need and give support throughout the day and will continue to be there for your marriage journey.
Abby and Zac decided to not see each other until the ceremony. That can actually add stress to a wedding day, but not for these two. They allowed for enough time afterwards for pictures and were in the moment, so it worked out great.
So happy!
I don’t often get my bride to sit, but I did this time :). Thank you Abby!!
I love this church. It’s the church Joe and I were married in almost 30 years ago.
What an awesome first dance! These two are amazing dancers. They met in swing class and I could have watched them all night.
Thank you for having us be part of such a great day!! We loved every minute! Congratulations!!

Abby and Zac are getting married tomorrow, so I thought it would be fun to share their engagement session with you :). We had such a great time laughing our way through the session. These two are so awesome together! The make each other laugh, they have fun dancing together, and are just laid back happy people. Oh, and Abby graduated with my son at Stadium High School, so that’s a little fun fact!

These 2 images are everything! haha
They met in swing class and I’m sure we’ll be seeing some of their moves at their wedding!
I told you these two are fun! They weren’t the serious type, so we didn’t focus on those kind of images. I strive capture true personalities and then it stays real! I’ll be sharing their wedding day soon!

I love seeing this family every year – sometimes with the parents and sometimes just the kids. It was a kid year this year :). This session proves that January can be a very pretty month for portraits. I know we think of it as cold and un-inviting, but we only need about an hour’s worth of good light and we can usually find at least that :). December is such a busy month that sometimes we just don’t have time for pictures too. It’s never too late! We did our session just in time, since Matthew was heading back to college the very next day.

Until next year!

Sierra picked a GORGEOUS November day for her senior portraits!

We were able to find some leaves left on a tree and with the glow of the sun behind us… magic!
Sierra’s new puppy is adorable!
…and Sierra is so beautiful!
More of that amazing sunlight!
The heart in the leaf, so perfect!
Thank you Sierra for having me capture this awesome time in your life! It was great seeing you again (FYI: I documented her mom’s wedding!)

Wright Park is always so pretty in the fall one a great location for a senior portrait session for Amber.Amber’s a Gig Harbor senior and I’m so glad she was able to make it to Tacoma to enjoy these fall leaves.

I love this one!  I love that the fall is present, but not overwhelming like it can be sometimes and with the white outfit, so perfect!

We can’t have a fall session without kicking some leaves up!
