Patty – Maternity Portraits

Yep, it’s true, Patty is VERY pregnant and such a trooper!  This is one hard working woman!  She has a 10 year old son, an almost 9 month old daughter, a husband, and a full time job!  Now if that isn’t hard work I don’t know what is!Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

I had her try out her modeling poses on me.  Pregnant woman can do that too you know!Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

You might wonder how can she have a 9 month old and be pregnant?  Well, funny thing is, she was in the process of adopting Mia and soon after Mia arrived, she found out she was pregnant with little Dawson.  Surprise, surprise!  Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

On the day we picked to do a few shots of her it rained:(, boo to the rain on this day!  So, we did this quickly! I usually love the rain, but it is especially hard on VERY pregnant woman!  I tried to find shelter for her using a cement tube we found and an umbrella I found in my car.  I, on the other hand, was soaked and tried hard to juggle an umbrella while capturing these shots.  Not the best steady technique for sure!  She doesn’t have much time before Dawson is here, so there was just no putting this off. We embraced the rain instead (not really:)).Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

I LOVE this.  You can see the rain drops on her belly!Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

I wanted to embrace Patty, not just her swollen belly, so I shot this image and it’s my FAVORITE.  She is a very special person.  Genuine in every way.  That is so precious to me.  Her husband, Doug is a sweetheart and they are our closest friends.  Friends who have walked together with us through the good, the bad and the ugly and they are priceless!Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

This was not an easy shoot for Patty.  The ground was unsteady and made her feel a bit dizzy at times. She was getting rained on and had a photographer bossing her around and having her climb into cement tubes (I should have filmed it… very funny – sorry Patty).Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

I managed to get her laughing though… I won’t tell you what about what, but she admitted she was having fun.:)Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

Baby Dawson, I can’t wait to meet you, cuddle you and love you, like the rest of your family.  Most of all, I can’t wait to witness your birth, as I did your big brother, Jacob.  It is one of my prized memories and I am honored to be part of such a special time for my friends once again.Sumner Tacoma Maternity Portraits

I love you guys with all my heart… xoxoxo
