Jennifer and Seppi – Engagement Portraits

Joe and I spent a good part of Sunday with Jennifer and Seppi to capture their engagement photos for them. Their wedding is coming up fast, March 12, so be sure to check back to see their beautiful wedding!

This is from a cute little shop in the antique mall downtown, called Red Zeppelin.  You never know what you might find.  We have a few funny ones from this place… but I decided on this one to show you:).

We love spending time with our couples on their engagement shoots. It’s a great time to get to know them better and prepare for the wedding. They now know what to expect from us and will be more comfortable on the day of their wedding.

Sometimes we just pick random places, like this parking garage.  They had sent me a list of places they liked in Tacoma, so we tried to hit all of them.  This was at Stadium High School.  I’m sure it was the architecture of the beautiful castle that caught their eye, not the parking garage:).Engagement Portraits Tacoma

Yep, it’s a staircase in the parking garage at Stadium.Engagement Portraits Tacoma

One of my FAVORITES.  I love the lighting.Engagement Portraits Tacoma

I LOVE capturing emotion and I LOVE this image!!  I LOVE using the word LOVE:). It had been just pouring and stormy the day  before and we were so blessed to have such a beautiful day that I wanted to make sure we got a sun kissed image.Engagement Portraits Tacoma

Jennifer and Seppi wanted some images at the Spanish Stairs too, so we made a quick stop there on the way to antique row.

Old world feel… just what I was looking for.Engagement Portraits Tacoma

Another fun thing about shoots is showing people places they have never been. Jennifer really liked all the cool doors along antique row, but we decided to take it a step further and go into the stores. You can find the coolest stuff in them. This vintage round-about looks like it is from an old hotel. I wanted it! I saw lots of things I wanted:).

One of my FAVORITES of the session.  I had to get pretty high for this one (no drugs were used in the making of this image:)).  There happened to be a balcony above that helped!  I really love the peacefulness it creates.Engagement Portraits Tacoma

A fun one.  I have been to this location several times and have always wanted to use the mirrors, so finally did.  To me, this can look a little confusing… so look at the next one and you will see how I set it up.Engagement Portraits Tacoma

Cool huh?Engagement Portraits Tacoma

A sweet little break for an intimate conversation (as intimate as it can be with my camera peaking around the corner!)Engagement Portraits Tacoma

Off to the park…. and yet, another FAVORITE of the session.Engagement Portraits Tacoma

I warn couples in advance that there will be lots of flirting, lots of kissing and lots of hugging on these shoots…. and lots of laughing!Engagement Portraits Tacoma

And to wrap up the day, a walk on the beach… and an embrace…
