I have a ton of posts to do for you, but I thought I would throw this in for something different. Hope you don’t mind
.
It all started with a photo shoot I did of my daughter, Amanda, a while back. The purpose was to get ballet shots, but I found myself inspired by a Marilyn Monroe image.
I am sure we all recognize this shot.
This was the first in our Hollywood Icon series and it was inspired by Marilyn Monroe. We may do more of her, but on this particular day, we just did the one.
Our version… Amanda does not like this picture of herself, but I love it!
After that Amanda wanted to do more. Next on her list, Audrey Hepburn. Amanda loves vintage things (that’s my girl) and one of her favorite shops, Vanity. So, we headed over to Vanity to got a few things for the shoot. I have a difference of opinion when it comes to selecting the final one to represent our version. I think to be inspired means to not copy, but take an idea and do something different with it. So the following images are both the ones Amanda picked (Amanda’s version) and the ones I picked (Connie’s version).
We started with Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Amanda’s Pick… Breakfast at Starbucks
.
Connie’s Pick, not that much different, but enough.
Next, the Scarf picture. I love the vintage wash on this.
Amanda’s Pick:
Connie’s Pick… we used a black garbage can behind Starbucks for the background and I used a vintage wash to tone down the colors in the scarf. I usually use this wash with grass or flower images. I just like how it looks, but now that I see how it looks with images like this I think I might experiment a little more.
Audrey with a classic Hat and glasses. There are lots of variations with Audrey in a classic style hat and sunglasses, but Amanda liked this one best.
Amanda’s Pick:
Connie’s Pick… I agreed with her on the one she picked above, but I also liked this one… I did think that the brim should have been up though. We used one of my neighbor’s garage doors for the background. It was perfect!
I love laughing pictures… so I managed to grab these two while doing the others. Nothing better than to see your kids happy!

Just one more and my personal FAVORITE
.
Thanks baby for another fun day. Next in line… Judy Garland.
